Air France wreckage found :: All feared dead

The Brazilian military planes found the wreckage on Tuesday from an Air France jet that crashed in the Atlantic Ocean with 228 people aboard. This is considered as the airline's worst disaster in its 75-year history. Meanwhile Brazilian Defense Minister said there was "no doubt" that a 3-mile strip of detritus in the high seas was from the Airbus A330 that went missing in stormy weather early on Monday. Experts were certain that all aboard died.

Overwrought relatives who had been praying for a miracle said they had given up and lost hope.Airplane seats, an orange buoy, wiring, pieces of metal and fuel stains were spotted in the water by Brazilian air force pilots about 745 miles northeast of the coastal city of Recife. So far no corpses have been spotted, and pulling out bits of wreckage may not start until Wednesday when navy ships with divers arrive.

Remains of Flight found during search

An airplane seat cushion, a life jacket, metallic detritus and signs of fuel and other materials were found in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday by Brazilian airplanes searching for a missing Air France flight.The detritus was spotted by Brazilian military pilots while searching 410 miles north of the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha, roughly along the path that the jet was taking before it disappeared with the passengers on board, said an Official.There were no signs of life.

The authorities would not be able to confirm that the detritus is from the plane until they can retrieve some of it from the ocean for further investigation. The Rescuers are still scanning a vast sweep of ocean extending from far off northeastern Brazil to waters off West Africa. Investigators on both sides of the ocean are trying to find out, what brought it down.
