Actor Kamal Haasan who recently completed fifty years of being in cinema will be recieving his Life Time Achievement award from the Rotary club of Chennai for his achivements in the industry. Its just another feather to his cap who has already won various awards. He is one actor who has won three National awards in the Indian cine Industry. Yet he will not be getting the recognition at one of the biggest film festivals in the country - the International Film Festival of India. The festival will be featuring films of Asha Parekh, Sharmila Tagore and Soumitro Chatterjee who also completed 50 years in cinema.

Kamal Haasan's films will not be a part of it because the actor wanted seven of his films to be screened instead of the proposed three. The actor feels the southern industry lacks the initiative when it comes to participating in National events. And the actor is also expected to Chair the FICCI media and entertainment enclave to be held on Thursday and Friday in Chennai.
