Sixth Pay Commision for State Government employees

Good news for Government Employees and Pensioners. The State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced the 6th Pay commission for their staff. It will benefit more than 12 lakh employees and 6 lakh pensioners.

The new break up system is as follows:

• Tamil Nadu Government employees monthly salary will be raised upto 30%.
• Pensioners will get 40% increase in their Basic Pension.
• House Rent Allowance and City Compensatory Allowance will be doubled with effect from 1.6.2009.
• Arrears will be given in three instalments after deducting the interim relief given in January 2009.
• The 1st arrears will be credited on 30th June.
• DCRG ceiling raised from 3.5 lakhs to 10 lakhs.
• New scales of pay announced for Superintendents, Assistant Sections Officers, Section Officers.
• New Pay scales fixation with effect from January 2006 and Arrears will be given from January 2007.
