Air France Flight Crashed


The Air France plane with 228 passengers on board was presumed to have crashed into the Atlantic Ocean after hitting the heavy turbulence on a flight from Rio to Paris. Air France said that the plane sent an automatic message reporting an electrical short circuit at 0214GMT, approximately 15 minutes after flying into the turbulence.



Senior French Minister ruled out the possibilty of Flight being Hijacked. The Flight AF 447 has 216 passengers and 12 crew members on board. The 216 passengers included 126 men, 82 women, seven children and one infant. The crew included three pilots and nine flight attendants.
Air France said the captain had a record of 11,000 flight hours and had already flown 1,700 hours on Airbus A330/A340s.The aircraft had 18,870 flight hours and went into service on April 18, 2005. The last maintenance check in the hangar took place on April 16, the airline added.

Meanwhile the French government has requested the Pentagon to help them out in this issue, and Pentagon has launched a search. The US military plane left an air base in Comalapa, El Salvador.The relatives of the passengers are really worried and have been waiting in the airport for more than 20 hours.
