It was another evening of glitz and glamour, with all the top celebrities from Bollywood for the IIFA awards 2009. Music maverick A.R.Rahman won the best music director and best back ground score award for Jodhaa-Akbar and actress Asin Thottumkal won the best female debutante for her role in Ghajini at the International Indian Film Academy awards held at Venetian Hotel, Macau on Saturday.
Rahman wasn't present at the function due to his professional commitments and director Gowariker received the award on his behalf. Singer Javed Ali got the best playback singer award for Jashan-e-Baharaa from Jodhaa Akbar followed by Javed Akhtar for best lyrics for the same song. Resul Pookuty was awarded for the best sound recording in Ghajini.
