Remains of Flight found during search

An airplane seat cushion, a life jacket, metallic detritus and signs of fuel and other materials were found in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday by Brazilian airplanes searching for a missing Air France flight. The detritus was spotted by Brazilian military pilots while searching 410 miles north of the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha, roughly along the path that the jet was taking before it disappeared with the passengers on board, said an Official. There were no signs of life.

The authorities would not be able to confirm that the detritus is from the plane until they can retrieve some of it from the ocean for further investigation. The Rescuers are still scanning a vast sweep of ocean extending from far off northeastern Brazil to waters off West Africa. Investigators on both sides of the ocean are trying to find out, what brought it down.
